Yep! You guessed it. Mascara. Okay, well that and concealer I suppose. I need them BOTH okay! I don't know about you, but for me mascara is just one of those things I can't go without. I'd feel naked without my mascara. The unfortunate thing about mascara is it has the shortest shelf life. I have owned a few pricey mascaras in my day and I have to admit some are just amazing...but with only 3 months to use it I sometimes feel as though it's a waste.
Estee Lauder's Sumptuous Extreme mascara has to be one of my favourite mascara's I've ever gotten my hands on. However, retailing at $28.50 CAD it is just not a realistic option for most . The reason why I got to try this gem is because of the Estee Lauder Christmas Gala where I gave women makeovers. In exchange I was given their gorgeous Holiday Blockbuster. I loved this mascara and I can actually say that I used it right until the bitter end. The price is just a bit too steep for me when there are so many other makeup items that will last me much longer.
Loreal Voluminous Million Lashes Mascara in Cabon Black was what I was using before I got my beloved Estee Lauder mascara. The wand is great for adding volume if that's what you're looking for. For me, I like mascara that makes my eye lashes look fuller versus longer. This is a great option if that's what you're looking for. If you want volume and length try their Voluminous False Fibre Lashes mascara (which I also have tried but didn't like as much as their Million Lashes). Their Voluminous Million Lashes Excess mascara is the one I plan to try next. Loreal is definitely one of my favourite drug store brands, with their mascara line ranging from about $10-12 CAD.
They're Real Mascara by Benefi has been another favourite of mine. It retails for $29 which is why I have never actually bought it for myself. Every year Sephora gives you a gift during the month of your birthday. Last year they gave out a sample of this mascara as well as a tiny tube of Watts Up (which I loved for highlighting under my brow!). I was hooked on the mascara right away. The thing about mascara is the wand makes a huge difference. This one has a ball on the end that allows you to easily reach the inner lashes as well as extend the outer. The wand truly is magic!
Maybelline Great Lash Lots of Lashes Mascara ($10 CAD) is one I've also been wanting to try. A co worker of mine has gorgeous lashes and when I asked her what mascara she was wearing (I ask those sorts of things often) she told me it was this one. The wand tapers at the end which allows you to get the inner lashes (like Benefit's They're Real). I think this might be a good drug store option for those of us who don't want to spend $30 on a tube of mascara. If you use this mascara and love it, please tell me about it below!
I have a few mascara mini tubes that I will be trying. The next one is Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara. I will definitely let you know what I think of it once I've tried it.
I'd love to hear what you think about mascara, brands, wands, etc. Please let me know your favourite tried tested and true mascara in the comments section below!
