I am only going to say this once. Put the jogging pants away my friend. They don't do a thing for your booty, not to mention an elasticized waist band isn't anyone's friend. Okay, now that we've addressed the pants, I think we need to talk about your makeup routine. You're probably thinking 'what makeup routine?' Precisely! Spend some time on yourself! Just because you're studying, or swamped by the amount of papers you have to write doesn't mean you don't have time for yourself. Make.time. Showering does not count as 'pampering'. I know you're broke. You're going to have to deal with that. It isn't' going to change any time soon...so get thrifty! Turn that dorm room into a mini spa and give yourself a much needed study break. Paint those toes! We both know how much 'cave woman' toes drive us up the wall. Pluck those brows, and spend time on skin care. Stress is not doing any favours to your skin right now so you need to take care of it. At the end of the day no one is going to know the marks you got on that exam, but you will look back on pictures and think why didn't I care more about myself? You are working hard, so don't be so hard on yourself. Even if you aren't going out anywhere, get dressed. Do your hair, and put on some makeup. Trust me, it will do wonders for your self esteem.
Sending lots of love,
The wiser, older version of you.
Alright, well I might have upgraded from a rubber ducky, but I still enjoy relaxing in the tub from time to time. I love a good face mask, hair mask, body scrub. You name it. Weekends are all about making time for a little R & R. Rest and Recharge.
If you ask me, Balea masks are a cheap and effective way to bring the spa to you! Slice up a cucumber and put a few slices on your eyes and relax. Let your worries slip away. I also love the Body Shop's Body Butter (especially in the winter). It's incredibly hydrating. Slather it on after you get out of the bath or shower and you won't regret it. As far of hair products go, I splurged on the Aveda Dry Remedy Shampoo and Conditioner because my hair was so dry. Dryer than it had ever been. It was well worth it as I've already noticed a difference in my ends. It hydrates without making my hair look greasy (since I have fine hair I'm always worried about that), and it smells wonderful!
Do you have any favourite items you like to pamper yourself with? I'd love to hear about them!
I hope you're having a great weekend.
It's also a great excuse to get together with your girlfriends and celebrate their accomplishments. One of my good friends just got a new job. I think that calls for a celebration! Pedicures anyone? Justified. See?It's so easy.
So do something for yourself today. Or a woman you love. Why? Because women are awesome.
If you've been following my blog you will know that I am all about using makeup to help you feel like the best version of you. I mentioned in my last post that I would like you to try out a different makeup look.
That is my request for you this weekend. Try something new. A new look, a new product. Something that pushes you out of your comfort zone, but still feels like 'you' when you wear it.
Here is a few pics I took of a makeup look I did the other day, wearing a new sweater I bought at Marshalls (love that place!). Some people might call it being vain, I call it being FAB-ULOUS!
I would love for you to do the same. Send me a picture of you being fabulous. I'd love to see it!
Have a great weekend!
